Shabby Chic Dresser

Hi all. I have something a little different to share with you all today. It's a matchbox dresser and this project has been on my pinterest to do list for ages. I first spotted these surfing pinterest one night and thought I just have to try it.

So I started out with 6 matchboxes. If you are an Aussie, you will easily recongise these matches.

The boxes measure 2"x 2 3/4" and were just the perfect size for this. I recently discovered that my local dollar shop is now stock foam board, so I grabbed myself a sheet to see what it is like. I have used it to create the outside shell to house my "drawers"...

I glued all of the matchboxes together like this

I covered my foam pieces in papers from the Graphic 45 Gilded Lily 8x8 paper pad and then glued them to the outer shell of the matchboxes.

Next was to line all the inside draws and create little handles or knobs. I have used two bead caps. One I have totally flattened out and the other holds a large pearl bead.

Once I had my little Dresser all put together it was time to decorate!!

Sorry I have no glamour shots this time round guys....I think my camera must've ate them :( cause they are nowhere to be found ...but I do have these. I have added a paper doily to the top and then decorated with various paper flowers, tiny bottles, charms and a cabechon

I have layered up the papers on the front panels of my draws and inked all their edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain. I added some of the small feet that Faith has here.
